Aug. 12, 2016 My Dear Friends, I must begin with apologising for my causing you problems or concern in any way. To those who worked so hard to arrange talks in next few months or have planned to attend I cannot thank you enough and beg your forgiveness for having to cancel these events. I ask the Lord, Jesus, to bless you all abundantly. In the last year of travelling(after more than 20 years of nearly continuously travelling to do God’s work) I began to feel complete exhaustion each evening even though it was not obvious to others. When I returned home from the weeks away my wife Katherine was becoming more and more concerned about me and if I would not return home at all from the next trip. In my foolish pride I ignored most of her concerns but then I had to receive some treatment for my health and to try and get my strength back. After that I intended to carry on as normal but my wife in her love of me insisted I should have some time to rest and recover. After some discussions and seeing the depth of Katherine’s concern combined with some other problems happening that needed my attention I have decided to not do any talks outside of Australia until April/May next year. I still have the support of Archbishop Timothy Costelloe of Perth, Australia…(in writing) and my spiritual director Fr. Richard Rutkauskas who has approved this letter. This is a personal decision I have had to make and I ask you to pray for me to have the strength and grace of God to continue my work for God next year around the world. My heart is heavy that in my weakness I have to take a break because there are so many who wait to hear of God’s love for them. Maybe you can remind those you know of His love. Once again I ask you to forgive me for my weakness and hope you will understand that I and my family need this time to recover. God
